This course will provide all candidates with a Security Guard licence after having completed all the requirements.
The course has 3 mandatory modules. All candidates must pass all 3 units in order to achieve a Level 2 Award in Security Guarding

- Consists of 60 multiple choice exam paper
- 42 out of 60 is required to pass
Unit 2 Working as a Security Officer
- The role of a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry.
- Patrolling.
- Controlling access and egress to a site.
- Searching procedures.
- Technology, security and monitoring systems in the security environment.
- Law and its relevance to the Security Officer.
- Reporting, recording and record keeping.
- Consists of 60 multiple choice exam paper
- 42 out of 60 is required to pass
Unit 3 Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry
- Recognising and Assessing risks.
- Communication Skills.
- De-escalating conflict situations.
- Resolving conflict.
- Post incident considerations.
- Consists of 35 multiple choice exam paper
- 25 out of 35 is required to pass

Entry requirements?
No specific requirement to start this course however need to have the capacity to read and write at literacy Level 2.
Learners aged 16 or over who wish to work as a CCTV Operative. However, an SIA licence cannot be applied for until the age of 18.
Correct ID must be provided as per SIA requirements.
